Elementalist/Mesmer
I was thinking of making a build as such: Elementalist/Mesmer
Fire tree as an elementalist and maybe as a mesmer using the life draining stuff
...anyone have experience with this build? Anyone have any input or suggestions?
BTW, I have:
Nightfall
Prophecies
Eye of the North
Factions
...so, will be able to travel where-ever needed to get items/skills.

NO.
Secondary profession should help your primary and work with it, having 2 different attributes for damage is usually a waste.

Haha. My first character ever, about 3 years ago, was a E/Me. I played him as a degen, energy denial mesmer for about a year. *facepalm/blush*
Don't do it. Yeah, it's loads of fun, but it's really not worth it.
Give it a shot in AB + PvP character, what's stopping ya? Worst that will happen is you'll have fun.

I rarely use anything but E/Me.....whether i'm soloing HM with my earth ele, or nuking with a team in the FoW...odds are i'm E/Me
Most useful mesmer skills to me are arcane echo and the mantras.

If i'm using E/Me i will got Sav. Heat + Arcane Echo... And some mantra's. I always use for fire magic a staff.. for air i got a perfect one... I dont got lots eliteskils on my ele but i dont use them all.. mostly of the time i'm using Searing Flames build... And IF i do Alliance Battle's i use an Air build.. it's doing perfectly damage... So i can explain Elemantalist in 1 word
Fantastic!

Or you won't have fun.. Grow up lonely and depressed, and decide to live with you parents for EVER.

By life draining, do you mean degen or are you thinking about necro's and their life stealing?
I think the consensus best combo is mind blast, rogorts invo, GoLE, and fire attunement. Searing flames used to be popular and is okay until you can upgrade itwith MB.

Yeah ... Life draining u want then Degen and u regen or them only degen? And if you still want E/Me you can best choose Sav. heat + Arcane Echo... and following up by again sav. heat , teinai's heat, searing heat, Fire storm , Fire attunement , and Res and 1 optional.

Well, as a starting off as an Elementalist, I say you should bother to get a basic elite skill at first. In this case, Elemental Attunement. Combined with Fire Attunement, and the oh-so-lovely Rodgort's Invocation, you've got a basic dual-fire build. And Elemental Attunement is much closer that Savannah Heat (unless you prefer to eat that Elite Ele Tome). And besides, it's located in the Undercity, which is just a morning walk from the Marketplace.
Life stealing is not what elementalists are big on, so that is why you rely on Aura of Restoration. Not only does this Enchantment protect your attunements, it provides effective healing. Or maybe you want the lifestealing in the form of health degeneration. Well, Immolate works in the fashion that it ddeals direct damage and provides 7 health degen for up to 3 seconds (considering 16 fire magic).
You may consider bringing other spammable spells such as Fireball or Immolate to further increase your damage output.
Area of Effect spells are generally an Ele's best friend, but if you plan on bringing many, it is probably suggested to have a 20/20 wand and 20/20 offhand, to increase the spammability of your spells.
If you ever want more ele tips or have any concerns, just pm me. I don't mind helping. [:

Arcane Echo, Rodgort's Invocation, Fire Attunement, Elemental Attunement.
4 fillers then go. Blinding Flash is viable on dual attune.

Ele's are great and fun to use. On top of everything people have already said, Ele/Mes are great farmers. Take a look.

Also, look up raptor farming. Enjoy.

lol wut. GoLE saves 32 energy every 30 seconds. PDrain saves less, AND it's conditional so if you miss... And heros use it in the beginning of battle when they dont need energy.

Assassin's Promise is nice too if you're taking skills like Meteor Shower. The extra energy you get back is nice too
